Behold this wonderful, beautiful talon footed piano stool. Now some of you may be thinking, Blythe, quit making things more elaborate than they need to be. That is a claw foot, not a talon foot, you silly, silly little girl. WELL, LET ME TELL YOU, while this stool is indeed claw footed, referring to it as being talon footed is much more accurate.
Claw– Curved, pointed appendage, found at the end of a toe or finger in most mammals and reptiles, including birds
Talon-A sharp claw of an animal, especially a bird of prey, such as the eagle, hawk, falcon, owl or buzzard
So you see it is both a claw AND a talon, but more specifically a talo, because don’t those feet just scream bird of prey?!? Amiright? I hope I didn’t loose anyone. Anywayzzz, remember that flea market I told ya’ll about a while back? The Woodruff Place Flea Market, to be exact? Well, Wagon and I hit it up and discovered this amazing little guy. He has recently been restored to, I can only assume, his original lustre. He’s painted a rich, dark brown and the swivel still works. I’m currently painting some furniture in my apartment, so he doesn’t quite have a home yet, but I’m getting better and better at balancing on him.
There were lots of other wonderful things there. Like these two intricately carved wooden throne things. They were from some shriners place in southern Indiana and nearly 6 feet tall. The detail was amazing, but 1. I have no need for two Game of Throne esque chairs and 2. They were mucho $$$$
